But we make exclusive use of BufferParams, no other Buffer member is

BufferParam is for Buffer _Parameters_ i.e. a structure which gather
important Buffer related parameters.
I think the situation is similar (but not identical) to Paragraph vs
Paragraph_pimpl, where Paragraph acts as a proxy.
There's a lot of code duplication that is worth nothing in there.
