Patch is missing...

Sorry about that... Please check this e-mail :)

BTW, I think most beginners of LyX do not fully utilize
the capabilities of LyX because they just do not know
the excellent functionality. The templates and document
layouts are in the most server situation. We have plenty
of templates and layouts shipped with LyX, but beginners
do not know. They generally briefly read several pages
of the manual and starts to use. When they need to use
a new latex class, active users write their own layouts
and templates, but inactive users just give up.

So, the best way is to enable the users see these excellent
things, _easily_, better off "accidently" when they are doing
things for other purpose. For the templates, I suggest two possible
improvements:

(1) Expand the "New from templates..." menu as the "Recent files",
so that the users can easily check available templates.
This is even useful for middle level users. Because of the
frequent updates, they do not know what's added after upgrate.
With this setting, anyone can easily find it, and sometime
"accidently" when moving the mouse pointer around that menu
   for other purpose.

(2) Make a "New document" wizard dialog. It lists all available
layouts, as well as templates. Maybe more advanced functionality
can be added. This is extremely attractive for users on the
way switching from M$ to LyX, but may not so useful for middle
   level users.

With the proposed improvements, my patch is no longer useful.
I hope somebody can invalidate my patch in the near future :-)
