Take the attached document and keep the down arrow key pressed. Eventually you'll get stucked.
I sometimes have the cursor jump between some insets in a formula. I will look into that. My patch does not change the mathed behaviour. And I remember to have seen that before but accused my macro patch.
Year, that maybe independant of your patch but I don't have the time to revert and test without it.
