I've uploaded a patch to bugzilla

that adds collapsible character styles, so you can do this:
CharStyle Endnote
InsetType Collapsable
LatexType Command
LatexName endnote
Preamble
\usepackage{endnotes}
EndPreamble
End
and suddenly have your very own endnote inset. Comments welcome.
