Here on Solaris w2l 0.5b2 works like w2l 0.4 stable: -latex is the default.
Had to change the calling syntax however: replace the list of args by $@
in the bash script.

I'm not sure that direct import from LyX is the best way: even with the
clean option, you have to manually tune the result, and use of the
numerous options does not fit well with a static call in the lyx converters,
unless you use the config option.

A test on the sample-article.odt of the distribution was a bit disappointing:
compile OK in latex, but the imported lyx file chokes (lyx-1.4.5).
