I could, but the relevant issue is what Mac OS standards are, and it's not square buttons but round or oval buttons -- round in this case. Mac also does not use a colorful button in this case but -- in this case -- grey buttons.

The picture I provided was not a current screenshot but rather a picture of how it *should* look on Mac (taken from Firefox's tab implementation).

Because Firefox follows Mac standards in this instance (but not every instance). I'm attaching another picture of a close-tab button taken from Apple's own Safari. The difference between Safari and Firefox is that Safari uses brushed metal, which is not what I think we should use for LyX. That's why I previously attached the Firefox button.
