You need to install Gnome libraries only, not complete Gnome. By using
Gnome libraries it is easier for me to write the code since there are
several useful classes (widgets) which you will find in Gnome
libraries only. In addition, using the Gnome libraries allows me to add
some nice small features to dialogs which are not there in Xforms
frontend. For example, history in the dialog entry box (it remembers your
last 10 inputs).

I think it will be better to join the forces and complete one frontend
first. It should be relatively easy then to port Gnome frontend to Gtk (or
vice versa).
