I want quickly to summarize where I think this discussion is now.

I would just like to point out that

1. Without a bundled mode, there is no change for existing documents
in my approach.

And there's no change for existing documents in my approach either, unless you decide to bundle them. And if you decide to embed some files in yours, then there are changes.

2. Individual embedding allows continuous use of external files.

Except when they're embedded.

Individual embedding is not chosen only for the cases that benefit
directly from it. It is a natural choice for a design that keeps my
exisiting files and my existing working style.
That may be. But a very large part of the problem here is that you are designing your feature around YOUR existing working style. As several people have several times pointed out.

As everyone now can see
from http://wiki.lyx.org/Devel/BundleSuggestions, your global
embedding approach leads to a bunch of compatibility and usage
problems. If you can resolve all of them, I will of course not insist
on individual embedding. As I have said, I do agree that global
embedding is simpler, if it works.

I think what people can see is that you have raised objections to it.

The wiki idea is a good one. Please respond to specific sections when
you get a chance. Right now, you are facing 6 criticisms while I am
facing one.

This is truly an amazing comment.
