I've noticed something similar, though I haven't seen it reliably (and
so haven't yet filed a bug report). Sometimes when I try to add one
citation, what happens is that a previously inserted citation in the
same paragraph is *modified*, even though the cursor wasn't next to
that citation when I selected Insert > Citation.
Can't reproduce an Linux.
Note also bug 4899, which still plagues me....
Let's talk about this one. Please give me LOTS of details. It sounds
like LyX isn't finding the file, though LaTeX is, which shouldn't
happen. Try running with lyx -dbg files (or failing that, -dbg all) and
see if we can get some info.
FYI, I'm in St Andrews (at Arche) next week, so may be slow to respond
for a bit.
