I've just recompiled latest branch to test its compatibility with
Qt-4.5. However, typesetting the User's Guide leads to multiple
errors.
First involves the use of the arrow symbol (pointing down and to the
left) for the return key: the error is: "Could not find LaTeX command
for character '[arrow symbol]' (code point 0x21b5)".
Second concerns various comment environments:
(a) "LaTeX Error: Environment lyxgreyedout undefined" (when issuing
the command "\renewenvironment{lyxgreyedout}"),
(b) LaTeX Error: Environment comment undefined (at the first
"\begin{comment}"), and
(c) LaTeX Error: \begin{description} on input line 3151 ended by \end{comment}.
(It looks like (c) is a consequence of (b).)
Otherwise, with limited testing, LyX-1.6.2 seems to work fine with Qt-4.5.
