It is from lyx-user, I'm reposting to lyx-devel. Hopefully some kind,
brave genius will know how to do a proper conversion: copy the LyX
document and all linked images to /tmp, then run eLyXer (which
converts images to PNG) and finally copy the converted images to the
destination folder. Some PDF converters do something similar, but with
in-place conversion of images to PDF files; apparently this is frowned
upon by LyX developers.

I have this pending task since almost a month ago, but am no nearer to
a solution. Any takers?

Thanks,

Alex.
