Hi,
If I remember my tests correctly 1.6.3 with ext-boost 1.38.0, Qt 4.5.2 and
gcc-4.4
worked but I'll better run that build again to be sure.
This definetly works.
Branch with the same libs and compiler doesn't work and it doesn't even start
after a make install.
Too late now to try it again with gcc-4.3 but I remember that I tried trunk with
gcc-4.3 instead of 4.4 and it did not work :(.
So there seems to have been some change in branch and trunk after 1.6.3 that
caused this trouble. Donn of it's possible, with some CPU power and git-svn,
to bisect the changes.
I can't run even r28500 of trunk (LyX 1.6.3 was r29912) with boost
1.37.0, Qt 4.5.1, and gcc-4.4---in place, of course.
I can't run r29912 of branch (1.6.3) in place, either. It'll run
installed, but I can run even current branch if I install it. The same
goes for r28772 (1.6.2). :-(
I can't compile r28443 of trunk or earlier, back for a while, anyway,
due to a problem JMarc fixed at r28444. I can compile (with some minor
changes, mostly inclusions of stdio.h) r27000 of trunk, but I can't run
it in place either. So I don't think anything really did change.
