I fixed this problem with instant previews 2 and an half hours ago. That was
a relic of the patch for bug #4630.

Wow, I had barely missed your revision. Now this process overload
problem has been fixed. Thanks!
But now I run into another problem. (This happened yesterday too.)
When I load my master document (containing 7 children), 1.6.x loads it
in 8 seconds, while trunk takes 45 seconds.
That difference may be due to lyx2lyx conversion. Please save your
master and child docs with trunk and try again.
