Hello,

I have tried to follow the workaround mentioned on
http://wiki.lyx.org/BibTeX/Tips#secbib

but I am not sure where to put the "bibtexall"-file (OSX). As I did not know, what was meant with the "path" where I would have to put this file I entered "echo $PATH" into the terminal. I´ve got the following line there:
/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/texbin:/usr/X11/bin

I tried to put the file into different folders in /usr (e.g. bin, x11, texmf, local etc.…), because I hoped, that I could find out just by trying. I did texhash for every of those instances, but LyX never found the BibTeX-files and in the resulting pdf I do just get the citekey-references.

I do not know where to put that file on OSX, and I also was not able to find out by trying. Does somebody know where to put it, or where this "path" is on the mac?

Thank you, best
Jess

Please keep this on the list.

thank you. Unfortunatelly Lyx still does not find the files and the
BibTeX-references are only displayed as cite-keys in the document. I
have placed the bibtexall-script in the "applications"-folder, which
is the folder for executable programs. After that I have tried if it
works, when I put it into the library´s texmf-folder (where the folder
"bibtex" and "tex" are) – with the same result. I am very unsure, if
these are the appropriate folders to let Lyx find the script. As far
as I know every in visible place in OSX script are executable (not in
the invisible ones, sure) and I suppose I would have to find the
appropriate place. Isn´t any special place meant with "path"?

Yes, PATH is a special place (or special places, for that matter). On Unix, you can find out the respective directories by means of "echo $PATH" in a terminal. Should work on the Mac as well. But I do not have a Mac. So if it
doesn't work, someone else will need to help.
