once you get nod from the testers this looks fine to get included
(if it looks forgoten, add it to the bugzilla with 2.0 milestone...)

two ideas - have you tried the connection with new preview inset machinery?
the .lyx file could be add as a special manual in help menu, but it needs more
talkative intro (what is needed to set it up, etc...) also it should show
the possibility of external inset?
