Dear all,
regarding Rob's message about collaborating with KDE, I think a .doc[x]
filter would be fantastic. It would make the process of importing those
files much more user-friendly than, say, exporting a document to .rtf
first and then importing it.
Rob also mentioned Google summer of code. I think that LyX could benefit
immensely from having some extra manpower for a few months, to look into
features that nobody has time to implement right now. However, mentoring
students does take some time (5 - 10 hours per week), so I'm not sure if
people here have enough time for that. In any case, please decide
quickly; there is less than one week left to the deadline for
organizations to apply!
