Well spoken. We were aware of that issue but what we have now is much better than before and the header/footer issue came up very often in the user mailing list.
The biggest problem I see is that the current module is for single-side printing only.
That is not true. Please have a loot at sec. 6.11 of the UserGuide in SVN.
Fancyhdr support double-side printing too, and then you have separate left/center/right header/footer for odd and for even pages.
What do you miss? Currently you can do 2-page headings with the optional arguments. I can also add support for the special commands but from my point of view the current solution supports the same features, or do I forgot something?
