One of:
lyx
to just start lyx, or:
lyx filename.lyx
to edit a particular file. If this fails with "lyx" being an unknown
command, then you have to type the whole path. I.e:
C:\wherever\it\is\installed\lyx
The main advantage of starting lyx this way, is that error and diagnostic
messages will be printed in that terminal window while lyx runs.
(Also, some people claim to navigate the filesystem faster in
a terminal, than in the windowing system.)
