Actually there are two complaints, IMO. The first one I cannot find anymore.
I believe it was an answer of some user to you.

The 2nd one is from one user I've sent a link to test a 2.2.0 LyX
development disk image:

In fact it's the user who told me about the pixmap cache problem.
I've asked him already if it's slower than 2.1.4 but didn't get
an answer so far.
