Agreed too. I will add that we should not neglect the harm we are inflicting to our smallish team by making people increasingly pissed off at each other. Security is important, but bikeshedding has a cost, and I am not sure that we can afford it.
We have to take into account that the minted problem is supposed to eventually fix itself, meaning that none of our choices will paint us in a corner.
