when trying to insert greyed out note into figure caption I run into latex
compilation problems (debian TL 16).
Is it lyx macro definition problem or am I not supposed to do that?

I suspect you've forgotten a `}', causing me to apply this
control sequence to too much text. How can we recover?
My plan is to forget the whole thing and hope for the best.
