In general, LyX's dialogs behave differently when they are closed and
opened as opposed to when they are already open and are "opened again".
For example, when the Label Settings dialog is closed and opened, its
entire label text gets selected. In contrast, when the dialog is already
open and is "opened again" (without closing first) the label text is not
selected. Note that the text gets reset as expected but not selected.
IMO this differential behaviour is unfortunate because almost all of the
time trying to open an already open document is because one has
forgotten that it was already open. The differential behaviour is also
contrary to what is common in other applications I use.
