Do you prefer to work on po file for current 2.3 version or start working on the upcoming lyx 2.4? 2.4 will take many months to appear, on the other hand there are ~700 new or changed strings compared to 2.3 which would need to be fixed once you finish 2.3 (if you decide to go for 2.3 first).
