Unfortunately I do not have time for mastering snap tooling in any foreseeable
future, I am sorry.

We do not really maintain LyX in linux distros, it's mostly their effort...

I consider snap to be nice thing to have more from archeology perspective,
when you need to run decade old code, but for the current codebase the
current situation of distros managing LyX on their own is better for us.

It would be quite burdersome to track all various CVEs for imagemagick or
ghostscript and continuously provide security updates for the whole
toolchain... We are too interdependent on the environment that unless someone
like you volunteers to take this burden on his shoulders it seems the needed
manpower is beyond what we have at our disposal...
