I confirmed this happens on Qt 6.8.1. So, this must be fixed.

I’m going to post a fix on master which fixes this particular problem but I may 
need to tweak it later after checking peculiar behavior of input method on 
Linux. For example, if preediting is canceled on selected text, the selected 
text is restored on other systems, but it doesn’t look so on Linux.
