Since the recent MacOS update the files of type #xxx.lyx# and xxx.lyx.emergency
seem to be generated in a broken way. They are not text files anymore and LyX
freezes when it starts to read them (I have only checked after crashes). W In
order to use LyX again one has to rename or remove the offending files.

This is not really a bug report because I think that the fault lies with Apple.
Before the MacOS update both recovery and autosave worked for me (and these
functionalities saved me many hours of work). I would like to propose that
users would be warned not to install MacOS 26 for now. Autosave can be delayed
up to 5 hours (300 min) in the preferences, but I think, it would be worthwhile
considering an option to disable both autosave and recovery after crashes, at
least as long as this problem persists.

I have only tested LyX 2.5 beta 2 on a single machine.

Regards, Marcus
