Hi Pavel, I interpreted this extension as a change of “values" since the old RGB format is still accepted as well as ARGB. All RGB colors are simply taken as solid ones. There are UI colors that use alpha values, so it seems a natural way to go. Since LaTeX is based on 16bit hex names, this change is basically limited to UI.
