Interoperability. You cannot upgrade as long as a single member in the
team is using 1.1.5. And upgrading out of sync with the one-year-general-
distribution-upgrade-cycle is usually not an option for "ordinary users" in
restricted environments. So a lag of a year or two is "normal".

(1.1.5fixsomething, 1.1.6fix2 and yesterday's CVS). The first for work, the
second for playing around and waiting for the next fix, and the third to
generate mathed bug reports... And you can believe me: installing 1.1.6
alone was non-trivial (no root, not much space)
