This might be a configure problem.
Can we see the relevant part of config.log?

In the meantime, you should be able to get it working by installed
AikSaurus.
Meanwhile, my compile finished without any problems except this:
make[2]: Entering directory `/home/alstrup/lyx-devel/qt2/src'
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `../sigc++/libsigc.la', needed by
`lyx'.
make[2]: Target `all-am' not remade because of errors.
I'm compiling the qt2 front-end. What's up?
