A bug in LyX

Hello,   I have noticed two bugs in the LyX 1.1.6fix3b (version 1.1.6 fixed with 3b fix):   1) \gamma, \sum, etc. are not displayed in LyX itself (instead I see an empty space), but only when I view compiled ps, dvi or pdf file. 2) In the file menu there is no import for LaTeX file, but only for ASCII and sgml (or something like that) - so that I cannot import LaTeX file to LyX.   Are these bugs common or it's something wrong with my installation?   Thank you, Roman.
