I believe Dekel made this suggestion as well: I think all backwards compatibility code should get moved to small binaries (or perl or python scripts) in $LIBDIR/compat/ named {old_num}_to_{new_num}, and then LyX can just focus on supporting the latest format. ---Kayvan -- Kayvan A.
