Hmmm, since this nasty crash persists, even with a total fresh checkout of CVS, I also persist in providing info on what could be the reason behind this strange SIGSEGV crash. "lyx -dbg MATHED" provides the attached output. This comes from simpy do "File->New" and the click on the mathed icon on the icon-taskbar. Does this give a clue? (see earlier email for gdb-backtrace). Rob.
