Graphic autodetection going wrong

Hi,
        a colleague has a eps file that file knows:

$file imag0p15.eps
imag0p15.eps: DOS EPS Binary File Postscript starts at byte 25896 length 
1771702 TIFF starts at byte 30 length 6621709

  yet lyx thinks that it a jpeg an tries to convert it, resulting in

convert: Not a JPEG file: starts with 0xc5 0xd0 (/home/jamatos/imag0p15.eps)

  This happens for both 1.3 and 1.2.1. Any solution? Notice that it is really 
annoying to ignore this error everytime you need to preview the document.
