So... share/lyx/tex is really sort of a hack?

But... if the files in this catalog is supposed to be put with the latex 
installation, why is it created during installation?

I say use it or loose it...

If it's used, the dvipost-package and other contributed packages could 
go there (maybe the directory should be renamed into contrib/?)

Btw, I did assme that when using latex from lyx, then share/lyx/tex 
would be found by latex...
