As a side note: This is a serious problem with acrobat reader. You may 
actually want to complain to Adobe about that.

Not that having type1 fonts in the .pdf is undesirable -- on the contrary. But 
acrobat reader had this problem since as long as I can remember. And it 
doesn't really show in printout, unless you have fairly low resolution 
printer. Ghostscript never had that problem in the last 4 years at least, 
that is.
