Yes. I don't use the former, but the needed lines for lib/configure.m4 for writer2latex are (w2l is a shell script shipped with it): SEARCH_PROG([for an OpenOffice.org -> Latex converter],sxw_to_latex_command,w2l) test "$sxw_to_latex_command" = "w2l" && sxw_to_latex_command="w2l -clean \$\$i" and further down: \\Format sxw sxw "OpenOffice.Org Writer" "" The -clean commandline option basically means "try to preserve structure rather than layout". w2l too works well from within lyx.
