I previously compiled CVS lyx fine with the same GCC version. A cvs update then caused it to fail. > Besides this is completely different from the error seen on FreeBSD. Are you sure? The error reporting machinery is of course very different between the CVS versions. Seems a cooincidence at least if it really is a different problem. john
