Like most detective work a lot of foot walking and waiting in the rain ;-) , especially if you have to insert fprintfs by hand and recompile after each run, and you switched from C++ to Java 6 years ago and never looked back (until now).
Does anyone know how to use XCode for LyX and if it is possible to use a debugger then?
I can not recommend the current Eclipse, especially since it does not lile the LyX-CVS server at all ...
