This is actually the reason I wanted to play with the .htaccess settings 
myself, so you wouldn't have to get down into this swamp and could spend 
your time on more important LyX-stuff :-)

I'm not sure what you mean here.. are you saying you'd prefer wiki markup
such as

        {{LyX manuals}}

which creates a links to a local wiki page, to generate HTML that looks
like this:

        <a href='/LyX/Manuals'>

If so, I could bring it up with the author of PmWiki.
