Hi all,I have encountered a few problems trying to convert a LaTeX file into Lyx I'd like to report. My LaTex file (a shorter version is appended below) contains many accents due to some quoted from French. I converted it to LyX with tex2lyx and then converted from the lyx format that tex2lyx produces to format 221 to make it readable on my 10.3.5 LyX version. LyX is able to load the file with no problems and produced a perfectly formatted pdf output. However, LyX has some problems displaying the file on screen:
1. "accent-grave e" and "accent-grave a" are not converted into native Lyx. Rather, they are displayed as ERT text.
2. A more annoying problem is the display and formatting of the paragraphs containing many accented letters. LyX seems to be putting accents everywhere except where needed. To be a bit more precise, LyX seems to be confused about where to display the accents and shifts them a few character right or left. So, for example, the word constitue' (accent-acute on the e) is displayed as 'constitue (accent-acute on the c, no accent on the e).
I use LyX 1.3.5 on a Mac running MacOS 10.3.9. I enclose a shortened version of the LaTeX file and the final LyX converted file (after the tex2lys and lyx2lyx runs).
Best, Stefano
