If you are using an svn GUI it should have options for that, too.
Yep, there is a svn tab in the file properties dialog... Very nifty!

Why can't you simply stick to unix line endings in the files you edit?

Because I am forced to use VC6 at work and I am too lazy to switch to another. But in general, VC6 editor is fine even though it occasionally insert dos eol.
