Oh... we are down to that level now...

i agree 0.5 is not a lot (and, as bo pointed out, it's friday)

...

as you write, there is frustration on many sides.

this needs to be sorted out one way or the other.

putting one's heels in the sand and let good people walk out is not the way to go (nor is retiring)

i don't think anyone here disagrees with your one change per patch mantra (although opinions might differ on what constitutes a change)

on the other hand i do think that that you should loosen up a bit. why didn't you reply this:

> And I must say... if Abdel's patch had only done the reworking to not
> have the guicursor in the BufferView (please pardon me if I remember
> wrong), then I would have had little of no problems with the patch.

...to abdel in the first place?

focus on the positive instead of the negative.

i also think that you should spend a bit more time expressing yourself.

"no", "this will not do." etc are not really motivating but rather discouraging and may 'sound' at times even rude.

remember, not everybody had a beer with you in real life.

why not give abdel a bit more leeway (and don't nit pick every little thing in the patch) and see how that works out (the trust part), while abdel makes a serious effort to stick to the one change per patch rule (the good lyx-citizen part)?

regards, edwin.
