We are in the middle of switching to unicode. LyX files and the document in memory are already in unicode, but the LaTeX export has not been touched yet at all, so it is completely broken. We may also have added some bugs, who knows. I'd suggest you check out the 1.4 branch and use that for your work, that will give you what will become the next stable version 1.4.3. You can use the svn switch command if you don't want to check out the who,e tree again. Georg
