Well, I believe that some reall FAQ should be included in FAQ document. 
I mean in the first place, that in the same manner as it si said, that 
LyX doesn't support LaTeX 2.09 (which is, IMHO, much less acute now when 
everybody has the tetex with LaTeX2e), that you have to make texhash 
and Edit/Reconfigure after every change to $TEXMF (answers like "I have
set up my .bst file, but it isn't in the LyX's popup"). Big, bold, red 
letters with many exclamation marks!
