Hi Mike,

Since the new approach (class change + reset to defaults) is now in and
will probably stay there, I tried to modify the sections in the User
Guide on this topic. AFAICS, it's Section 2.3 "Basic LyX Setup" (Layout
-> Save Settings as Class Defaults has been moved to the Document
popup) and 3.1.2.2 "Selecting a Class". You will find this in on of the
attached lyxfiles. Feel free to correct my lousy English ;-)

Furthermore, I attached the modified section on ligatures (3.7.3)
again, this time as a lyxfile. Please modify this section in the User
Guide, since LyX 1.2.0 will introduce a new Special Character to break
ligatures and the recommendation to use '\/' for breaking ligatures in
the User Guide is not very good, as the LaTeX gurus told me.

Regards,

Jrgen
