That plugin was actually started by me using a different approach, but
there didn't seem to be any desire for it by the lyx developers so I never
installed it there. I've added it now in a hackish way, see e.g.

There are two caveats:
* It's not the latest version of mimetex
- I can upgrade this if you want me to, or need it.
* The binary file, mimetex.cgi is located in my home directory
- it doesn't work otherwise, guess som apache configuration needs
to be changed to let me put a .cgi somewhere else.
Search www.pmwiki.org for 'mimetex' and you'll find lots of examples.
