Got it to work.

For some reason, LyX was not saving my preferences (mac.bind) for me, so I was left with aqua.bind which proves useless.

I edited preferences by hand, to give me mac.bind and things work well.

So the bug is that the preferences don't save (even after I changed prefs, quit LyX and restarted)

Hey Lyxians,

I love Lyx but am having amazing trouble getting bindings to work under OSX 10.3.

Is this a known issue?

Basically, I type control, alt, option, whatever -- nothing activates any of the control characters. I have gone to preferences and selected mac.bnd, and also tried emacs.bnd and aqua.bnd, to no avail. I am using the Lyx 1.3.5 for OSX.

Am I doing something stupid? All other features work fine, but I have to go to the menu bar by hand to do anything useful e.g. copying, pasting.

Thanks for any help, as I am continuing a book project for Cambridge University Press using Lyx as my preparation tool.
