The correct word is 'Advice' which has no plural because it is regarded as a collective noun.

Thanks, I fixed this.

Incidentally I have previously offered to assist with the documentation but received no response to any of my emails.

You are always welcome to report mistakes of all sort. If you have many of them, please send a list with them to this mailing list in the form

I will include then your fixes and learn more about correct English while doing
it.

I wrote many parts of the docs, also complete documents like the Math and the Embedded Objects manual, although I'm not a native speaker. When I came to LyX, I had problems to understand the docs written by native speakers because they often use "unusual" words. That is of course correct English, but non-native speakers will have to look often in dictionaries to find out the meaning. But our English docs are also the docs for all other languages, except of German, French, and Spanish. So I tried to write a kind of simple English, similar as the aim of
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Simple_English_Wikipedia
by using "common" words.

thanks and regards
Uwe
