The installation folder is the folder where you have installed LyX. Its name is uasually "LyX 1.6.1"
or what you have chosen at installation time. You will find it by searching for the "lyx.exe".
Alternatively, just search for a folder named "examples".
The tutorial cannot be more precise because at installation time you could install LyX to a location
of your choice.
