I missed your post about Swedish. Before starting to translate for example the UserGuide, please
start with the English version that you find in LyX's 1_6_x SVN branch:

and not with the one in SVN trunk.
The SVN trunk is our development are and therefore currently unstable. The 1_6_x branch is our
current stable branch.

I can recommend to use a graphical SVN client. Personally I use http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org on
Windows. For Linux you can use http://www.anrichter.net/projects/qsvn , http://rapidsvn.tigris.org/
, or http://kdesvn.alwins-world.de/ .
